Personal budgeting

Every month asks the same question.

Did we spend more than we planned? Finance answers it in a sentence — at the top of the page, before a single chart. And it answers for everything you spend on, not one card's slice of the picture.

Last month Example

You spent £128 more than you budgeted.

Over budget

Groceries accounts for £74 of it.

One set of categories · one budget · one verdict

Your bank shows you your bank. A card app shows you that card. Neither can tell you what the month cost. Bring a statement from each and they land together — so the plan covers everything you actually spend, and the answer at the top of the dashboard is the real one.

  • 01 Bring in every account. Drop in a CSV or XLSX from any bank or card. Each statement's layout is learned the first time it's seen, so the next export from that provider imports without you mapping a single column.
  • 02 Spending sorts itself. Transactions from every source are categorised automatically into one shared set of categories, and each correction you make is remembered — so the same shop lands in the same place next month, whichever card paid for it.
  • 03 Budget the whole picture, once. One plan across every account. Budgets carry forward on their own, and understand costs that land quarterly or annually rather than every month.
  • 04 See where it's heading. Month-by-month breakdowns, running cash position, savings and retirement — all off the same figures as the verdict.
